Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) has embedded robust governance at multiple levels of the organisation to oversee, lead and implement our sustainability-related activities.
The Board has full accountability for AAHK's sustainability strategy and performance. The Sustainability Executive Taskforce, which is composed of the Executive Directors, and chaired by the CEO, serves as the primary decision-making body for key strategic sustainability efforts. We also engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to better understand and respond to their needs and make better-informed business decisions.
AAHK is responsible for the operation and development of HKIA. The majority of services related to the airport's operational functions are outsourced to business partners, including franchisees, licensees and tenants. As such, AAHK adopts an airport-wide approach to extend beyond areas under its direct control and proactively engages airport business partners to address various sustainability issues.
AAHK has identified six SDGs that are strategically relevant for the organisation. We annually evaluate the alignment of these goals, their constituent targets and indicators with our business activities, as well as our ability to deliver genuine and long-term impact.
Further details of our contributions toward the SDGs can be found in our latest Sustainability Report.
