AAHK concluded its first three-year HKIA Carbon Capacity Building Programme

24  April  2025

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) organised its 15th event on 26 March under the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Carbon Capacity Building Programme, in partnership with Business Environment Council. Representatives from AAHK, Cathay Subsidiary Services, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited and Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited were invited to share their efforts in decarbonisation initiatives. Valuable advice on driving emissions reduction was offered in the panel discussion, providing insights and encouragement to the airport community.

The event marked the successful conclusion of the first three-year HKIA Carbon Capacity Building Programme. This tailored programme is designed for the airport community and aims to develop the necessary skills and awareness required to achieve the HKIA 2050 Net Zero Carbon Pledge. Since its launch in 2022, the programme has delivered 15 knowledge-sharing events to over 400 participants and issued more than 800 Continuing Professional Development hours. Building on this momentum, a new three-year HKIA Carbon Capacity Building Programme is set to launch this quarter, continuing our support to the airport community in their decarbonisation journeys.
