Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) received three awards in the “Climate Disclosure Contribution” category at the Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Finance Awards 2024, organised by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency. AAHK was honoured with the "Outstanding Award for Climate Disclosure Contribution” for its transparency in climate risk management and disclosure. Our proactive approach to managing climate-related risks is outlined in our annual Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Statement starting from 2021. This made Hong Kong International Airport one of the first airports in Asia to disclose this information.
In addition, Ricky Leung, AAHK Executive Director, Engineering & Technology won the “Leadership Award for Climate Disclosure Contribution” and Peter Lee, General Manager, Sustainability won the “Strategist Award for Climate Disclosure Contribution”. Mr Leung led and supervised AAHK’s Climate Resilience Study. This study aligned with TCFD recommendations from the outset and highlighted AAHK’s commitment to comprehensively understanding climate-related risks and opportunities. The triple recognition demonstrates the ongoing success of AAHK’s strategic approach to building a low-carbon and climate-resilient airport.
