Introduction

AAHK pledged to make HKIA the World’s Greenest Airport.

In 2012, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) pledged to make Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) the World’s Greenest Airport. This pledge serves as a goal and a driver to continuously improve HKIA’s environmental performance. AAHK has established a set of corporate-wide policies, which are endorsed by AAHK’s Chief Executive Officer, to reiterate its commitment to achieving high standards of environmental performance. To accelerate the rate of environmental footprint reduction across HKIA, AAHK actively develops and implements best practices and innovative measures in environmental management through:

• Implementing ISO 14001-certified environmental management system (EMS) to manage, measure and continuously improve HKIA’s environmental performance; and
• Implementing a third-party monitoring programme to engage business partners in environmental matters.
