HKIA Career Expo 2024 offering over 7,500 airport job openings

More than 45 airport companies are recruiting for over 7,500 vacancies during the three-day event.

(HONG KONG, 17 May 2024, 1400hrs) –  Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and the Labour Department today kicked-off the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Career Expo 2024 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. More than 45 airport companies are recruiting for over 7,500 vacancies during the three-day event.

Fred Lam, Chief Executive Officer of AAHK; Ho Kai-ming, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, and Vivian Cheung, Chief Operating Officer of AAHK, officiated at the opening ceremony of the event.

Fred Lam, Chief Executive Officer of AAHK, said at the event, “An array of projects are progressing full steam ahead at HKIA, including Airport City, the expansion into a Three-runway System (3RS) and air cargo developments. A strong talent pool is crucial for the success of these developments. In the meantime, we continue to deploy innovative technologies across the airport, thus creating more high-value career opportunities that will attract more young people to join us. We attach great importance to the wellbeing of airport staff. Our aim is to build an airport community where colleagues enjoy their work with peace of mind.”

Job opportunities offered at the Expo cover a wide range of roles, including ground service, inflight services, aircraft maintenance, airfreight, aviation security, airport services, baggage handling, technical and construction services, retail, catering, and more. Throughout the event, airport companies will also host more than 15 career talk sessions, providing information on job opportunities as well as insights into career planning. Participating companies may also conduct on-site job interviews.

AAHK is also holding a lucky draw during the Expo, giving away 1,500 round-trip air tickets as prizes. Participants may enter the lucky draw by completing specific tasks at the venue.
