Flight Evacuation Incident

(HONG KONG, 24 June 2023, 0300hrs)  –  Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) received a report at 0020hrs today that a Cathay Pacific departure flight CX880 from Hong Kong to Los Angeles aborted takeoff due to signal anomaly.  The plane was taxied back to parking stand and evacuation through emergency chute was initiated. Fire services arrived at the scene immediately for assistance. Ambulance officers treated the injured on site. According to latest information at 0230hrs, 11 passengers who reported injuries needed to be sent to hospital for further treatment. There were 293 passengers and 17 crew members onboard the plane. AAHK staff have also been deployed on-site for assistance.
