(HONG KONG, 21 April 2023, 1500hrs) – Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) held a business luncheon in London yesterday to share with business leaders and government officials the latest developments in Hong Kong and promote the air ticket giveaway campaign. The event was organised with the support of Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Speaking at the luncheon, Jack So, Chairman of AAHK, shared that since travel restrictions were lifted in Hong Kong and reopening of the border with Mainland, Hong Kong is back on the centre stage. Passenger volume at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has increased to around 50% of the pre-pandemic level and expected to reach 80% by end 2023.
In support of HKSAR Government’s “Hello Hong Kong” campaign, AAHK is sponsoring 500,000 tickets to be given away to visitors from around the world. The ticket giveaway in the United Kingdom (UK) is scheduled to start in May.
Mr So also introduced the Airport City projects, commercial developments in SKYCITY including 11 SKIES, and enhancements of the airport’s connectivity with Greater Bay Area.
“Our aspiration is to transform the airport into a regional hub for entertainment, consumer events and business services. I hope visitors from Europe, especially UK, will come to Hong Kong for business and pleasure, and experience all the new and exciting developments,” Mr So said.
