(HONG KONG, 16 March 2023, 2230hrs) – Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today hosted the "HKIA Community Cycling Competition" at the HKIA Community Building. More than 150 representatives from 18 organisations of the airport community, including AAHK, government departments, airlines and other business partners, as well as the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy, participated in the relay competition. The E-Cycling competition simulated a cycling competition on a 19km route from Sunny Bay to Disneyland.
The competition aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the bonding among members of the airport community. The HKIA Community Building, where the competition was held, opened in December 2022 with a 5000-square-metres staff clubhouse, as well as a staff canteen of 500 seats for the airport community. The HKIA Staff Clubhouse provides various facilities including a gymnasium with over 100 pieces of equipment, a karaoke room, quiet room, relaxation room, badminton court, basketball court, yoga room, table tennis room, barbecue area and roof garden.
The HKIA Community Building also houses the new campuses of Hong Kong International Aviation Academy and Airport Pre-school, with the latter set to open this year.
