(HONG KONG, 16 March 2023, 1330hrs) – The check-in system of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has fully resumed normal operation at around 0915hrs this morning. The concerned check-in procedures have fully resumed normal.
A network system fault was detected affecting check-in process at aisles A to E of the South Departures Hall when Airport Authority Hong Kong was undergoing a regular system check at early hours today. To ensure safety, AAHK conducted a thorough inspection on the system immediately.
AAHK has immediately activated emergency response mechanism, and informed relevant airlines. Affected airlines and passengers were directed to other check-in aisles and North Departures Hall while AAHK was handling the issue. Five departure flights were delayed for around less than 30 minutes during the period. AAHK apologises for inconvenience caused to passengers.
