(HONG KONG, 16 November 2021, 2030hrs) – Following the Department of Health’s announcement today, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) is facilitating the Government to set up and prepare the commencement of operation of the Temporary Specimen Collection Centre Two (TSCC-2) at T1 Satellite Concourse of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). TSCC-2 will be dedicated for travellers arriving in Hong Kong from the Mainland to conduct COVID-19 test starting 18 November. Other travellers will undergo COVID-19 test at the Temporary Specimen Collection Centre One (TSCC-1) at T1 Midfield Concourse.
The handling of passengers from different places will be completely separated at HKIA with the new TSCC-2 for passengers from/to the Mainland commencing operation on 18 November, coupled with the implementation of separate zones in the restricted area of Terminal 1 (T1) for flights from/to the Mainland and flights from/to places outside the Mainland.
In support of the Government’s initiative to further segregate travellers from different places at the airport, since 15 November AAHK has been handling flights from/to Mainland exclusively in the Green Zone and flights from/to places outside Mainland only in the Orange Zone in the restricted area of T1. Each zone has its own designated shops, restaurants and toilets.
Signage has been put up for identification of the respective zones. Additional airport staff have been deployed to assist passengers.
Meanwhile, passenger servicing and flight handling staff are not allowed to mix during the workday for flights from/to the Mainland and places outside the Mainland. Designated staff facilities, toilets and restaurants have also been assigned.
