Subcontractor Worker Preliminarily Confirmed to Have Contracted COVID-19<br>Relevant Work Areas Cleaned and Disinfected

(HONG KONG, 6 March 2021, 2230hrs)  –  Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) received a report that a subcontractor worker has been preliminarily confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. Relevant work areas have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

The AA was informed by Automated People Mover Extension project contractor China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited that a subcontractor worker has been preliminarily confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. The concerned worker was informed that he was preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon. China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited has identified the workers who had been in contact with the concerned worker and reported to Department of Health. Relevant work site had been stopped for cleaning.

The AA has stringent guidelines for contractors and subcontractors to ensure public health and safety of airport staff and other airport users.
