Our Summer Internship Programme provides students with an opportunity to experience Airport Authority Hong Kong's (AAHK) unique working environment and learn about the airport's operations before completing their university studies. Through the internships, students will be involved in Hong Kong International Airport's (HKIA) daily operations, earn exposure through business-related projects, and gain valuable work experience to better prepare for their future jobs and to understand their career interests.
Interns with high caliber and outstanding performance will be prioritised and may gain a fast-track opportunity in the AAHK Management Trainee Programme and Graduate Engineer Programme selection process.
During the eight weeks, students will gain hands-on experience in a department under the coaching of supervisors. They will also meet and connect with AAHK's stakeholders to learn from their experiences in the industry. On top of networking opportunties, students will participate in a series of well-structured training courses designed to enhance management skills and learn airport operations. Students will also work with a group of fellows on an assigned project and present to the senior management, showcasing their key takeaways from the internship programme.

Read MoreThe level of exposures offered to us was incredible. During my eight-week internship, I was privileged to be granted the opportunity to take part in different project management meetings involving cross-departmental collaborations, where I could learn about how project management in airport operations was like by witnessing the gradual realisation of the initiatives. Being led by experienced, enthusiastic and supportive supervisors and colleagues who were willing to coach and open to new ideas are definitely the greatest takeaways that we could have as undergraduates. As summer interns, we were also showered with different learning opportunities including airport visits, job shadowing and interactions with industry leaders. We could also work as a team to formulate proposals in enhancing airport experiences, during which our ideas were actually heard and valued by the management.
For aviation enthusiasts, I could proudly say that this programme is a perfect starter guide to your journey in the industry.
