Airport Authority Appoints Corporate Services Director

(HONG KONG, 15 March 2006) ─ The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) today announced the appointment of Mr E Anthony Tan as Corporate Services Director with immediate effect. Reporting to AA's Chief Executive Officer Dr David J Pang, Mr Tan will serve as a member of AA's Executive Committee.

In his new role, Mr Tan takes charge of Human Resources & Administration and Legal & Secretarial Services. In addition to strategizing people assets management, he plays a pivotal role in driving process management, steering business teams, and overseeing the AA's Board-related matters.

Mr Tan brings with him extensive experience spanning global business management, corporate planning and development, organization and business development, and project planning and implementation. He has spent most of his career with the DuPont Company and his last role there was President of DuPont Textiles & Interiors and DuPont China Ltd. Before joining AA, he was the Chairman of Invista Far Eastern Petrochemical Ltd.

Mr Tan is active in serving the community. He is a non-official board member of the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Company Limited and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. He holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Mr Tan is to succeed Mr Alex Derbie who will shortly be retiring from his existing role as AA's Legal Director and Secretary to the Board. Recognizing Mr Derbie's invaluable contributions to AA over the past five years, Dr Pang said, "HKIA has been undergoing a period of rapid growth and development. Under Mr Derbie's leadership, his team provides professional legal and insurance services that have been of significant value to AA."
