Vivian Cheung, Chief Operating Officer of AAHK says the implementation of ‘Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK’ provides passengers with more international travel choices while taking full advantage of the connectivity brought by the HZMB.

(HONG KONG, 12 December 2023, 1800hrs)  –  Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and the Zhuhai Municipal Government today launched “Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK” to provide Mainland passengers with more convenient international travel services. In line with the 14th Five-Year Plan and Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, “Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK” further strengthens the connectivity between Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) and the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and unleashes the advantage of the complementary strengths of HKIA and Zhuhai Airport.

Vivian Cheung, Chief Operating Officer, AAHK, said, “Thanks to the support and cooperation of the Central Government, Guangdong Provincial Government, Zhuhai Municipal Government, Zhuhai Airport, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and relevant parties, the implementation of ‘Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK’ has been progressing smoothly. It provides passengers with more international travel choices while taking full advantage of the connectivity brought by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB). ‘Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK’ also supports the development of the GBA and its world-class airport cluster by leveraging and integrating the complementary airport resources of Hong Kong and Zhuhai.”

“Fly-Via-Zhuhai-HK” provides passengers with seamless “air-to-bridge-to-air” transfer service between HKIA and Zhuhai Airport. Passengers from other Mainland cities can fly to Zhuhai Airport and then take a transfer coach via the HZMB to the SkyPier Terminal inside HKIA’s restricted area, from which they will arrive directly at the boarding gate for transfer to destinations worldwide. In addition, passengers from the western part of the GBA can travel to HKIA’s restricted area via the HZMB, better serving the GBA.

HKIA’s SkyPier Terminal commenced operation in August this year. The bridge-to-air and air-to-bridge transfer service between HKIA and Macao are available for transfer passengers to travel between the airport’s restricted area and Macao port by bonded bus.
