2023/07/17

(HONG KONG, 17 July 2023, 1700hrs)  –  A total of 22 flights were cancelled and five arrival flights were diverted today at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), as of the latest information at 1500hrs. The airport operations remain largely normal during the typhoon. The two runways at the airport will operate overnight tonight.

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) advises passengers to check with the airlines for the latest flight status and stay tuned for updates on the recovery of the land transportation. Passengers can also check the official website of HKIA, or the “My HKG” mobile app for the latest flight information.

The Airport Emergency Centre has been activated since early hours this morning to coordinate the airport operations. Additional manpower has also been deployed to assist passengers at the terminal. AAHK will maintain close communications with the Civil Aviation Department, airlines, public transport operators and other business partners to ensure smooth airport and flights operations.
